The document problem seems to have been solved. I have to convert all the files to an earlier version of Excell because Google won't accept 2007. I hope that works.
The box is here, and season stats will follow later today.
Wayne County Post 11 did what it almost always does when it goes to Ahoskie: win. But it wasn’t pretty.
Ahoskie almost doubled up Wayne in the hit column but couldn’t overcome nine walks and a home run by Zach Wright as Post 11 improved its record to 4-0 with an 8-4 win at Hertford County High School Saturday afternoon.
Wayne will take a break due to graduations around the county and return to action with a double header Sunday afternoon at Southern Wayne High. Wayne will face Tarboro at four with a contest against Garner to follow shortly after the completion of the first game.
In a game in which the offense couldn’t get in gear, Wayne got another solid performance from the youthful pitching staff. Jesse Randolph and Eric DuBose each threw three scoreless innings as four hurlers allowed five hits and two walks. By contrast, Ahoskie starter Jacob Dunlow issued eight free passes in three-plus innings. Wayne took advantage of Dunlow’s wildness to score seven runs.
But things got a little too close at the end. Wayne what appeared to be a comfortable 8-3 lead into the ninth with John Wooten trying to post his second straight scoreless inning. He gave up a leadoff double to Bryce Callipher before retiring the next two batters on fly balls to center field.
Eli Spruill reached on a infield hit, and Dunlow singled home a run. Dylan Ralph kept the rally alive be reaching on an infield hit to shortstop to bring the tying run to the plate. But Wooten came back to get the final out on a fly ball to right.
Tyler Edward opened the game by reaching on an error and Walker Gourley lined a single to left. Edwards came around on a wild pitch and passed ball, and Gourley scored on a double steal after John Wooten walked.
Wayne added four more runs in the fourth. Wright lined a breaking pitch over the center field fence with two out to make it 4-2. Adron Hollowell followed a walked by Cambric Moye with a bad-hop triple to center field. He scored on a passed ball.
Gourley added another run in the sixth with a two-out double.

Don't make me reach through this computer and slap you into next week. The stats will be updated late Sunday as I have to be in Winston-Salem. Now, I'm at Danny Merritt's house as he picks his all-time team.
I need to get home.
