After piling up 30 runs in its previous two games, Post 13 nearly matched that total with a 29-4 destruction of Pitt County Post 160 in Fleming Stadium. The game was called after seven innings. In winning its third straight to move to 9-4 in the Area One Eastern Division, Wilson of the North Conference pounded 24 hits, including six doubles and two grand slams against its non-conference foe."Yeah, I think our hitting's starting to come around," said designated hitter Bradley Taylor. "We were slow to begin with but, now, it's starting to heat up. It's a good time for it to heat up, too."Taylor's slam keyed an 11-run first inning for Post 13 against Post 160 starting right-hander Billy Walling (0-1). It was the first slam for Taylor in high school or American Legion ball and a proud moment for the recent Charles B. Aycock High School graduate.
"Especially over here at this place (Fleming)," said Taylor, whose shot hit about halfway up the light pole in left field. "You've got to hit one a long ways to get it out of here." ...

With pitching-rich rival Wayne County Post 11 next up Friday night at 7 in Fleming, Wilson hopes to keep its offensive fire lit."Oh, we're going to need plenty Friday night!" assured Taylor.
